In collaboration with the north east region of the Environment Agency, the FBA is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher at its Windermere site to study the factors influencing the survival of the freshwater pearl mussel (Margaritifera margaritifera) throughout its life cycle in the Tyne catchment. The successful candidate will join a small and dynamic team to investigate the environmental circumstances surrounding its decline and limiting its recovery. The outputs of this project will be used to develop a restoration plan for the pearl mussel and the Tyne catchment.
